Happy New Year’s Eve!!

According to astronomers, this new year is particularly special because the night of December 31st, 2009 will be treated with a Blue Moon, which is the 13th full moon of the year.

While there are usually only 12 full moons in a calendar year, 2009 marks the first year with 13 full moons since 1990 and it won’t happen again until 2028!

For those of you in Europe and Asia, at 7:23pm (GMT), you will be treated to a partial lunar eclipse.

So if you see a stunningly beautiful full moon in the sky tonight and it has a blueish hue, that’s not the effect of the alcohol

One of my favorite NY groups (and friends) Dujeous, have just released the second single off their upcoming full-length project DAY IN, DAY OUT. This song is actually one of my favorites of theirs and it features the soulful Sharon Jones of the Dap Kings.  This song really is perfect for a motivational anthem as the boys spit about what makes them keep moving forward when things get tough. My friend Tony English recently put me on to The xx and I have been playing their debut album “xx” non-stop ever since. Straight out of London, this indie rock band consists of 3 kids that just simply make really good music. The sophisticated sound and lyrics give no hint that the band members are all under the age of 21. If you are looking for something super fresh to listen to, check out The xx.
