Posted by Tamara | Posted on 30-01-2010

Broken Bells, a collaboration between Danger Mouse and James Mercer (lead singer of The Shins), have released the first single off their upcoming self-titled album slated to drop in March. I’m seriously digging this collabo, listen:

CL!CK: A LEGO Short Film

Posted by Tamara | Posted on 27-01-2010

I swiped this video from my friend Eddie’s Facebook wall. Watch it and you will understand why I had to share. It’s such a cool little film, and if you grew up on LEGO’s like me…you will really dig it. The style is very reminiscent of one of my favorite directors ever Monsieur Michel Gondry. Regardez:

Kid Prodigy: Football Phenom Cody Paul, 8 years old

Posted by Tamara | Posted on 23-01-2010

#5 Cody Paul. I really can’t say much more than to just watch the video. This kid is better than guys twice his size. He’s quick, he can move and he’s got a little attitude to match.  Seriously, check him…he’s incredible!

If you are in LA (or have watched the news in the past few days), then you know rain, hail, thunder and flooding has taken over Southern California. The sun attempts to peak through every once in awhile, but to no real avail. Five straight days of torrential downpour call for some Portishead. Enjoy:

Um…this is kind of amazing. I’ll be the first to tell you that I LOVED Avatar. I was thoroughly entertained (visually) for the entire film. I watched the “Behind the Scenes: Avatar” and it was really cool to see how James Cameron made this film really come to life. The whole process was completely fascinating. A friend forwarded the “Original” breakdown for Avatar (and Pocahontas) to me and I just had to share. Seriously, kind of amazing right?!

Check out this video of a flying car!! Seriously! It’s more of a remote control flying Lexus, but it’s airborne nonetheless! It seems they used a balloon, propeller type contraption….where do I get my hands on one of these?! It would really help me out with LA traffic.

Cornucopia: A 3D Printer That Prints Food!!!

Posted by Tamara | Posted on 15-01-2010

What?! The future is here kids. MIT’s Fluid Interfaces Group have revealed their latest project, Cornucopia, which is “a three dimensional printer for food, which works by storing, precisely mixing, depositing and cooking layers of ingredients.”

“So like, if you feel like an apple, you just put an apple cartridge in, run the apple program, and wait while printer extrudes an apple shape. Heating and cooling elements in the print heads do all of the cooking for you.”

Bonkers! I’m personally waiting for a TV that cooks the food that is being made while watching Food Network or Top Chef. That, in tandem with Smell-O-Vision, and I’m all set!

NEW M.I.A.!!!! “There’s Space for Ol Dat I See (Space Odyssey)”

Posted by Tamara | Posted on 13-01-2010

There were rumors of a new MIA album in the works, and now she has just dropped the single “There’s Space for Ol Dat I See”.  Based off the single, MIA is coming back with a fresh new sound as this track has a much more slow tempo than anything off 2007’s smash album “Kaya”. The vibe of the song (and accompanying video) has a psychedelic feel to it. I am definitely feeling this track and am super psyched for the album release. Listen:
