I posted the single for Erykah Badu’s “Window Seat” in the posts below and today she officially released the music video. And you see a whole lot of Erykah!! Seriously, the fellas will enjoy this one. And the song…so dope! The ending is a little nuts though.

HBO has just begun their advertising campaign for Season 3 of True Blood and I’m so psyched!! This is arguable my favorite show right now and I am so ready to see what exploits the town of Bon Temps gets into this season. Below is a teaser:

My last post on Erykah Badu (here) introduced her new song with Lil’ Wayne which was pretty disappointing and quite surprising coming from such an amazing talent like Badu. “Window Seat” which will be the official first single of her upcoming album “New Amerykah Part Two”, brings Erykah back to the soulful and melodic driven beats that I love about her. I was recently enjoying an amazing Sunday in Santa Monica, hitting up the Farmer’s Market, the beach and then getting my nails done when I happened across some art by I Luff Life. If anyone knows my art aesthetic then they know I am a huge fan of street art and graffiti. The artist (Lauren) uses paint and decals to make her one-of-a kind pieces. They are bright, fun and great for new art aficionados looking to build their collections. I was so in love with the art that I bought one on the spot! Um. Wow. I guess this is pretty much par for the course with Gaga. I can’t help but draw comparisons to both Madonna and Michael Jackson throughout this video. Her look is Madonna circa her Blonde Ambition days and the storytelling side of the music video is reminiscent of MJ’s mini-movies he would create for every video he did.  I do like the overall look and feel, there are some points that are just too much, but then I guess it wouldn’t be a Lady Gaga venture if it wasn’t. Amazingly, I can even draw comparisons to Quentin Tarantino at points. Pussy-mobile much? Check it:

I am a HUGE Erykah Badu fan, but honestly, I’m a bit disappointed by this one. Maybe I have to give it a few more listens but….it’s pretty mediocre to me.

This is amazing. It makes me like French actress Marion Cotillard even more. Enjoy!
